“Ugly” Sneakers Trend for 2019

Well, in 2017, we saw the popularity of dad sneakers and then last year, chunky sneakers were everywhere.  Many called them the “ugly” sneakers, for obvious reasons.  Many people still cannot accept this sneaker style.  Now that we are in 2019, a new trend has taken over and it is the platform sneaker trend. They were popular in the ’90s and this decade’s fashion style is back with a vengeance.  Just think of Spice Girls and you would be instantly brought back to those platform sneakers.

Check out this pair of chunky platform sole from Eytys, a Stockholm-based brand.  They have recently launched a collaboration with H&M.

Pharell Williams x Chanel Capsule

Chanel has announced in October 2018 that it would be collaborating with Pharell Williams on a capsule collection.  There were not many details about the collaboration after that but recently Pharell was spotted carrying a large Chanel bag with the number 5 in white at the Paris Fashion Week’s Men.  The shopper tote bag features the Parisian house’s logo in silver hardware and chain details on the straps.  Pharrell Williams x Chanel capsule will be available at the brand’s flagship store in Seoul on March 29.

Shoe Trend 2019

I am sure you have seen the “dad’s” sneakers or”ugly” sneakers cropping up during the last few seasons.  Some may be in love with that look and some, like me who are just undecided.  Though they are unique but I feel that the chunky side of these sneakers is rather intimidating.

Well, this trend will still be around next year but with a little twist.  Due to the popularity of dad sneakers, this chunky design will be getting an update in 2019.   It is going to be the trail sneaker trend as in outdoor hiking trail *gasp*.

What are your thoughts on this?  Would you be wearing the chunky trail sneakers?

Layered Jeans Trend

The classic skinny jeans trend never get old but the latest look will surely spark some debates.  It is the layered jeans trend.  The style can vary, but layered denim usually involves jeans that appear to have multiple other pairs layered underneath them.  It is like a few waistbands sewn into one.   Have you seen that?  A few designers have jumped on board with this design, namely Alexander Wang and Sandro.
